Our team

Landon joined our board in 2021. He brings more than a decade of leadership in community economic development, public engagement, social enterprise, and urban sustainability. He’s also executive director of the Hastings Crossing Business Improvement Association. Working directly in the neighbourhoods we serve, he’s built relationships with many of our clients. Landon led the province-wide consultation for BC’s Poverty Reduction Strategy in 2023. He’s an IAP2-certified engagement specialist and holds a master’s degree in urban studies. Landon is passionate about linking social needs with business solutions to strengthen communities. He’s led multiple neighbourhood renewal projects, and advanced destigmatization and awareness for people who use substances.

Chan-Seng joined our board in 2018 and brings more than 15 years of experience in finance, risk management, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory reporting, information technology, human resources, and administration and corporate governance. He’s vice-president of finance and administration with Partnerships British Columbia Inc. The corporation helps the public sector plan and manage large building projects by providing expert advice and consistent leadership. Chan-Seng is a chartered professional accountant and a current member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of B.C. and Canada. He also serves on the board of trustees for the B.C. Public Service Pension Plan.

Patti joined our board in 2023, bringing public relations, communications, and community engagement expertise. After founding Karyo Communications 40 years ago, she grew it into the largest PR firm in B.C. before selling it to Edelman, the largest PR firm in the world. In 2015 she returned to her roots as an independent consultant with PSM Ventures Inc. With clients in the corporate and not for profit sectors, she has led large teams handling complex communications assignments. Her specialties include issues, crisis and reputation management.

Molly joined our board in 2024 and has been a Bloom Group donor since 2018. She brings marketing and strategic planning expertise and currently is head of marketing at Huer Foods Inc., a B.C. confections company. She’s spent more than 10 years building brands and teams, and crafting strategy that disrupts categories. Her work in consumer-packaged goods in Canada and the U.S. includes developing growth strategies for brands like White Claw Hard Seltzer, Vega, and Granville Island Brewing. In her free time, Molly is a devoted skier, aspiring pickleballer and mom to a rescue “cheagle” (chihuahua beagle) named Bode.

Jean joined our board in 2023 and brings extensive experience in health care, research, and administration. He helps drive the planning and evaluation of our services and the well-being of our staff. He holds a PhD in psychology from UBC and other certifications. He’s worked in health care settings and led academic and hospital-based research units. He’s also served on international committees focused on the health and social needs of vulnerable populations. Jean has served on several health-related boards and was awarded the Canadian Association on Gerontology’s award for significant contributions to the field of aging. His other passions include reading history, cooking, and listening to his wife’s musical compositions.

Ana brings more than 25 years of experience in organizational development, employee wellness, labour relations, and strategic human resources. She has led HR teams in both the education and transportation sectors, building strong, people-focused workplaces.

Ana has also practiced labour and employment law at two Vancouver-based firms, giving her a solid foundation in workplace and regulatory matters.

She’s also served on several boards, including volunteer and not-for-profit organizations. She supports community outreach and initiatives that strengthen local connections.

Natasha brings a strong background in finance, operations, and organizational growth. She’s currently director of finance at the First Nations Technology Council, where she oversees financial strategy and supports the organization’s long-term sustainability.

Natasha’s experience includes leading financial services, strengthening internal processes, and supporting program delivery through sound planning.

Earlier in her career, she worked in accounting and client-facing roles across consulting and digital marketing organizations. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and finance and is committed to using her expertise to support impactful, community-focused work.

Stephen is CEO of Genus Capital Management, where he leads the firm’s strategic growth and its commitment to sustainable investing. He has been with Genus since 2001 and has helped build it into a recognized investment manager serving both private and institutional clients.

Stephen joined the Board of The Bloom Group to support its mission of serving individuals and families in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. He is motivated by the opportunity to contribute at a grassroots level and to help strengthen organizations addressing complex social challenges with dignity and care.

Vera brings extensive experience in real estate investment, acquisitions, and business development. She is executive director of investments at KingSett Capital, where she leads investment strategy and portfolio growth.

She has held senior roles in acquisitions and investment management with various organizations. Her work has spanned sourcing opportunities, evaluating assets, and executing transactions across multiple sectors.

Vera also contributes to her community as board chair of the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association. She holds a bachelor of commerce degree in finance and real estate from the University of B.C.

Dave has worked in finance and accounting for more than 30 years. He’s been a CFO/VP Finance in the insurance industry and served on numerous government and community boards in the health care sector, including Island Health. As a board member with the BC College of Nurses he played an active role in the merger of the three nursing disciplines. Dave is a graduate of SFU and holds a CMA/CPA designation and was awarded a fellowship in 2013. He has also earned an ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Laura brings a wealth of experience in social services, mental health, and program oversight. She combines academic knowledge with frontline experience to lead with empathy and impact. She has a strong foundation in stakeholder engagement and community well-being. She plays a key role in connecting our partners and guiding teams to ensure successful initiatives. Laura holds a bachelor of science (honors) degree in sociology as well as a degree in psychiatric nursing. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking and everything beautiful B.C. has to offer.

Mason oversees our real estate and facilities operations. He previously led a number of real estate and corporate development activities with increasing responsibility at Restaurant Brands International. Mason is a CFA Charter holder. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Queens University.
