JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Program Manager plays a supportive role in the orchestration and execution of program objectives, ensuring effective operations and successful outcomes. This position involves working collaboratively with the program manager to oversee the implementation, operation, performance and development of AG program components.
EDUCATION/PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public administration or related discipline; a certificate in Community Economic Development would be an asset.
- Five (5) years of experience delivering client services in a community social service or social enterprise setting, including 2 years management/ supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in program/ social enterprise development and evaluation.
- BC Class V driver’s license required and use of a personal vehicle during work.
- Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.

- Ability to empathize and work with people who have experienced trauma, illness, abuse, poverty and multiple losses.
- Ability to consider and construct practices which acknowledge and incorporate the experiences of persons who are marginalized on the bases of gender, race/ethnicity, economic status, language, culture, age, disability, sexual orientation/ identity, an/or gender identity.
- Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate services and business plans.
- Ability to develop effective business practices balanced with service delivery objectives and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to provide effective staff guidance, coaching and supervision.
- Ability and willingness to work independently and in cooperation with others, and to foster a collaborative, positive and innovative working environment.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively, managing multiple priorities and goals.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office software. Experience using Sage/ Accpac Plus Window’s Accounting System desirable.
