The Magic of Music Therapy

Music therapy is well regarded as a means to provide physical, psychological and social benefits and promote healing and comfort. At The Bloom Group, music therapy plays an important role in our programming to increase the overall health of our residents and patients by offering a safe outlet to encourage communication and connection. Our residents exposed to music therapy often demonstrate enhanced ability for self-expression and improved memory, speech and cognitive skills. Music therapy also increases social activity and reduces stress.

Weekly music therapy sessions take place at several of our residences including Victory House, Cordova House and Santiago Lodge, as well as at May’s Place and Cottage Hospice.

Perhaps Roland, a resident of Cordova House, sums it up best: “It brings that feeling right through your whole body… they’re all smiling, they’re all happy. And that’s what life is all about.”

Music therapy is made available by the generosity of our donors. To donate to our music therapy program, contact: cgraves@thebloomgroup.org or click:
