“We can’t deprive people of this community they built with no other option, it’s illogical,” said Elizabeth Barnett, Executive Director of The Bloom Group, during the interview with CBC News Vancouver on August 16, 2022. “Just wonder about your strength of community when people don’t have the space to go to,” said Barnett.
The Bloom Group is committed to building the strength of a community where people are kind to each other and help one another. Compassion can go a long way, especially in a closely-knit community like the Downtown Eastside. Bloom provides shelters and supportive housing options for those who otherwise would not have a place to live.
